在人生地不熟的台灣開始向各大唱片公司推薦自己的許紹洋，經過了許久石沈大海的失望等待，正當已經要放棄時，卻因緣際會的認識了曾一手打造杜德偉和徐懷鈺的最佳娛樂經紀公司負責人姚鳳群，在聽過許紹洋的試唱帶之後，立刻決定和許紹洋簽下一紙合約。

正當要開始準備專輯的籌備工作時，許紹洋在公司巧遇正在為偶像劇「薰衣草」選角的三立電視台節目部監製陳玉珊，一眼相中許紹洋國際化的背景和散發男人味的性格外型，力邀許紹洋挑男主角大樑，加入「薰衣草」的演出。
「薰衣草」一播出就創下收視第一，許紹洋在劇中飾演的由美國回到台灣的歌手Ｌｅｏ也成為家喻互曉的角色，人氣迅速累積，成立的個人官方網站召集了上萬名的成員，而「薰衣草」也由於各頻道爭相播放，在二個月之內已經播放了三輪，收錄由許紹洋演唱的片頭片尾主題曲的薰衣草電視原聲帶更創下十萬張的銷售佳績。
意外的一個戲劇機會，為許紹洋奠定了漂亮的第一步。
